Itinerary

Pickup from Kathmandu International Airport and transfer to the hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is free to explore the streets of the Thamel district. In the afternoon, we will visit a traditional restaurant for a dinner of typical Nepalese cuisine. Overnight at the hotel.

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we set off for Syabru Bensi. The journey to the main trekking starting point is an experience in itself. The road trip can take between 7 and 9 hours, depending on road and traffic conditions. Roads in Nepal, especially in mountainous regions, can be unpredictable, so it's advisable to be prepared for possible delays. At least the views make up for it; the Langtang Valley is beautiful. We spent the night in a lodge in Syabru Bensi.

Today we begin our hike. After breakfast, we set off on our trek to the Lama Hotel village. The village is at an altitude of 2,500 meters and is located in the middle of the valley.

The trail passes through several villages and a dense bamboo forest. All day we walk along the banks of the river that bears the same name as the valley, Langtang. Along the trail, where the forest is denser, if you're lucky, you can see the famous red pandas, monkeys, and many types of birds. It's a wilder area than Annapurna or Everest. After about five hours of walking, we arrive at the lodge and spend the night there.

An approximately 5.6-hour hike to the main village in the region, Langtang. This village is located in the middle of the valley, next to the river and surrounded by mountains over 7,000 m high. In 2015, there was a very strong earthquake in Nepal, and the Langtang area was the most devastated. Only one house remained standing after the earthquake.

Today is an easy day. A very short hike, 2.5 hours, to the village of Kyanjin Gompa. This village is located at the end of the valley and offers excellent panoramic views of the peaks: Langtang Lirung, Ganjala, and Naya Kenga.

From here, you can take several hikes and climb nearby peaks of 4,000 and 5,000 meters. You can also visit the cheese factory and a beautiful Buddhist monastery built about 400 years ago. It's the ideal day to enjoy the scenery and take a rest, or to hike to Kyanjin Ri Peak or the Langtang Lirung Glacier.

We continue to Kyanjin Ri (4,650 m), the highest point of the day. From the summit, we have spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including Langtang Lirung, Langshisa Ri, Dorje Lakpa, and various glaciers. After a well-deserved rest and several photos, we return to Kyanjin Gompa via the same route. The hike takes approximately 4-5 hours round trip. Overnight at a lodge.

Very early in the morning after breakfast, we leave the village to climb to the best viewpoint in the area, Tserko Ri (4,980 m). We set off early to enjoy the impressive views from this peak in the morning. The first section of the trail is very easy, almost flat. Once we cross the river, the path begins to become more difficult.

After about four hours of hiking, we reached the summit. From here, we can see snow-capped peaks of over 6,000–7,000 m in altitude on all sides, such as Langtang Lirung (7,209 m), Ganchempo (6,455 m), and Langshisha Ri (6,427 m), all truly stunning. After taking photos and enjoying ourselves, we began the descent to Kyanjin Gompa along the same path. We spent the night in Kyanjin.

The hike from Kyanjin Gompa to Ghoda Tabela covers approximately 12 kilometers and usually takes between 3 and 4 hours, depending on the pace and the stops made along the way. The return journey follows the same path, descending steeply. The trek takes approximately 4 hours. Overnight stay in a hostel.

Today we finish the hike in the same village where we began, Syabru Bensi. We follow virtually the same path along the banks of the Langtang River. The trek takes approximately 6.7 hours. We spend the night in a hostel in Syabru Bensi.

After breakfast, we depart for Kathmandu. The return journey is an important part of the Langtang Valley trek, marking the end of the mountain adventure and the return to Nepal's bustling capital. The approximately 120 kilometers from Syabru Bensi to Kathmandu can take between 7 and 9 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Overnight stay in a hotel in Kathmandu.

Free day for unforeseen events: altitude sickness, some last-minute shopping, or just relaxing. A one-day tour of Kathmandu is available. Overnight in Kathmandu.

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for the airport or connect with another tour.
