Afternoon: Begin your New Delhi City Tour with a visit to Raj Ghat, a memorial dedicated to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, marked by a simple black marble platform where he was cremated on 31 January 1948.
Visit the Laxmi Narayan Temple, and drive past India Gate, a memorial built in 1931 to honor Indian soldiers who died in World War I and the Afghan Wars. The names of these soldiers are inscribed on its walls.
Pass by the Parliament House and the President's House, the official residence of the President of India, constructed in 1931. Formerly known as Viceroy’s House, it served as the residence of the Governor-General of British India until 1950.
Proceed to Humayun’s Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the memorial of Mughal Emperor Humayun. Built in 1562, it is the first example of this type of Mughal architecture in India.
